WASTING DISEASE
Disavowed from the afterlife, spurned from eternal rest,
consciousness floods anew into this rotting corpse
avulsed from the moldering crypt, reanimate, I claw forth…
Self-exhumed, mud caked and maggot infested
Encased in a shell of leathern skin
Craving human flesh
Hunger pangs, irrepressible, I must kill to slake this thirst
Strength is imbued at the scent of prey,
Flows into limbs with homicidal rage.
Tearing open body cavities, upon innards and organs I shall feast.
Showered in blood as fresh meat is rended apart.
Insatiable sanguinary lust.
Feast… Feast…
I will consume the wretched human scourge.
Shambling amongst the shadows to feast once more,
Glinting teeth tear through organs and sinews
Gorging until nothing remains…
Risen with predacious taste for human flesh,
Sentenced forever to roam this world undead
An aberration, blight on humanity, living nightmare.
Cursed to prey on man, indiscriminate.
This wasting disease.

Voices lay siege on the brain, unseen disembodied hordes
Spread infection through the mind, corrupting from within
Trapped beneath their smothering weight,
they make me their slave to murder
Behind these eyes,
the brood inside my head tightens its grip on me
Forcing me to
obey their every whim and machination
Bodies lie strewn,
flayed and dissected I strip away flesh from bone
All to appease
An insatiable, ravenous thirst for bloodshed ...
The hands that defile this carcass are no longer my own.
Unspeakable acts done not of my volition.
The swarm exhorts me-kill.
Infests, rots my diseased mind away…
I come to, awash in blood,
hacking innocents to pieces.
Clothed in tepid human flesh,
unaware of all that I have done.
Bodies hang from rusty hooks,
horrid stench of death overwhelms
Skulls adorn my sanctum,
in this den of iniquity, charnel.
Murder over takes my life…
The meaning of existence - to kill.
A shrine sanctified with blood.
A sacred place of death - for them.
From dark recesses,
in the back of my mind they await for new prey.
Lashing forward,
made an instrument of murder once again
Catatonic,
I am left observer to this depravity.
Bilious, pallid,
sick at the sight of what I know will never end.
There will never be an end, there can never be an end to this
merciless cycle of mindless butchery.

Visions of alien vistas haunt my dreams.
Cyclopean, hewn not of human hands.
Labyrinthine, monolithic, foreboding.
Stirring in darkness, its denizens call to me...
Eyes awake from fitful sleep, head swimming.
Otherworldly murterings resound through my mind.
Echoing memories, forsaken by time.
Deep within my being, something is awakened...
Inside of me…
The onset of change erupts as I welcome its arrival.
Antediluvian voices beckon from below.
To bestow upon my crown a diadem, immortality.
Beneath the churning waters, in the lair of the deep ones.
Consanguinity awakens in me - becoming one of their kind.
Ichor of the ancients flows through me.
This metamorphosis is nearly complete.
Their presence tangible, as they lie in wait.
With outstretched arms, this eldritch homecoming…
I have become one with destiny,
True heritage manifest as one of the old ones.
Rules of mortals no longer govern me.
That which was imprisoned has been unleashed…
I step away from my humanity's last vestige, for I am reborn.
In ageless, unending glory.
“Ia Cthulhu Fhtagn, Ia”
Descending beyond the furthest reach of the reef, into the abyss.
A life devoid of all trace of mankind, in dark regality.
Basking in the brilliance of the emerald glow of eternity.
To live beyond this sickening human filth,
amongst these insects, a god.
“IA!”
We shall dive down through black abysses...and in that lair of the deep
ones we shall dwell amidst wonder and glory forevermore.

The cold blade pressed to warm skin,
trembling with elation.
Anticipating this metamorphosis -
this grotesque, unwholesome act of contrition.
No registration of pain;
endorphins rush as the skin is flayed from your face.
Bleed out…
Cut away the folly of this travesty,
liberate yourself from the wretched human condition to be set free.
Free…
Slice away the burden of this malformation;
divest the tragic flaw of this vileness.
Sever all allegiance to man's wickedness,
cast away the miscreant’s visage and be birthed anew.
Embrace the cold emptiness of the absolute.
The ultimate penitence, exposing the truth.
Torn away from the bindery to the mortal coil,
transcending both death and life, becoming something more.
The blade sinks in ever deeper,
through flesh, sinews, to bone.
Guilt, like blood falls upon the floor,
these few moments reveal more than a lifetime.
A creature of new sight awakens…
Unfettered by the prison of human conscience.
As the layers fall away, exposing what lies beneath,
part of you awakens.
Your true essence takes shape, manifests itself.
As you destroy the edifice limiting human existence.
You watch the world sink, consumed by oblivion.
Baptized in a wash of red,
eschewing all normalcy, as you venture forth
to this place where life and death are inextricably intertwined.
A world below this one, forged of suffering and pain, a distorted reflection. Showing what lies beneath, within everyone of us.
Exhorting the oblivious to open their eyes.
To open their eyes…
To death.

THE SOUND OF EXTINCTION
Lurking just over the horizon's Apex, faintly audible,
the sound of extinction draws ever nearer...
Intensifying, the maelstrom constructs
a shadowy vision of impending doom.
Smoldering ruins, riven and cominuted,
the smell of burnt flesh, acrid, fills the sky.
In a deafening cacophony (millions suffering...),
oblivious to their own demise,
an epidemic of affliction, (inch closer to death...),
for this apathy we pay the price.
Doomed.
Subjugated by these chaotic whims, we have all been enslaved.
Caught in the gears of this machinery,
we march in single file to a mass grave.
Rotting away beneath our feet, the reality we know corrodes.
Our grip on morality loosens as we are plunged into the void.
An unseen hand takes us and leads us further down into the abyss
where the perpetual night awaits.
Darkness envelops us, obscures all that we know.
A prison from which there is no escape.
Reduced to our animal selves, preying upon one another as beasts.
Invidious and irascible, born of pure contempt,
breathing in apostasy, exhaling discontent.
Self-infliction of actions so incorrigible,
unredemptive, we must suffer consequence...
Sycophantic, avaricious iniquities govern our actions,
awash in a sea of wretched proclivities we drown.
An age of human twilight descends upon and envelops us,
paralyzing us in the grip of mortal terror.
Blackening the sky, ensuring us there can be no future.
A total eclipse of the long-dying light.
Self-infliction of mortal wounds, suicidal.
Unredemptive, we must suffer the consequences.

beats with short groove/break down riffs with virulent double bass drumming that are a highlight to the more complex down tuned riff structures. The ugly monstrous vocals are thundering, harsh and convey lyrical topics such as misanthropy, endtimes and the human condition.

I'll admit I kinda wrote this off as just another modern brutal death metal album when it came out, but upon revisiting it I was happy to discover I was quite wrong. This band have, with this release, hit upon a brilliant blend of atmosphere and brutality that surprised me with every new song. Hopefully this is the record that gets them some more exposure, as they deserve it.

Let's see...On the plus side: great musical ideas, great arrangements, lots of potential. On the downside: lyrics too cheesy, songs are lacking a bit of length: they always kind of fall short. There are great riffs, but the songs need more development. overall, very interesting: let's see what comes next. 7/10
